Thanks for all the feedback.
The chat room cannot be restricted during certain hours only. In fact we are paying for a much higher bandwidth usage and actual chat room bandwidth usage is a very small percentage of that. As murthymsr has commented that we need to make the chatroom more popular among all members. However if the chat room is being used then we will continue with it. |

1) it will popularise chat room. to achieve this objective, the chat summary may be posted on the next day by noon or latest by by evening. 2) it will help those who could not participate in the chat room for any reason. 3) the discussions in the chat room shall be professional. 4) though the privacy aspects of chat, we may be compromising, but it is worth it. i consent, and appeal to all others also to post their consent. some of my observations while in chat session: 1) we spend more time in pleasantries, and this is becoming a distraction to the topic under progress. i propose that the new entrant greets the chat participants and one of the members already in session will welcome on behalf of all members present. just think it over! 2) we may need a voluntary moderator for each session, so that chat session is purposeful & informative. 3) after i log in, if i am able to see the chat text in the previous 15 minutes, questions like "what's going on?" are pre-answered. thanks Traderji for the wonderful experience. Murthygaru I missed this post. Somehow I diagree on some of the points raised by you. Can we really make a condition like the chat should be professional. As of now there is a lot of chit chat mixed with sharing of idea, knowledge. It also raises many questions. Who will be resonsible for reporting. who are willing to moderate. And finally freedom. The chat forum is not used to share knowledge but also to make friends , get help etc. Maybe One could think of having a particular time defined for professional discussion and some Happy hours . You are also aware previous Hosted sessions did not elicit the kind of response one would have expected going by the popularity of the forum. The previous 15 mins idea is an excellant one. Sorry for sounding negative, but I trying to be practical. Would love to hear the views of other regular chatters warm regards Karthik |

i agree with karthik, one idea could be like appointing someone as a chat room moderator so that atleast there is a decorum, no doubt there is. But so that professionalism could be a bit more stressed on.The Topic of discussion can also be given with the pre decided time and date, so that ppl can take out time, log in and make use of it.
