Advertisements & Surrogates

Traderji,
Lately one has been noticing a lot of attempts at indirectly advertising products & services. This, of course, fortifies the fact that this forum is steadily gaining in reputation. But, all such posts are really against the spirit of the forum. Secondly, many such websites may collect information from visitors and misuse it or infect the users' computer with malware or spyware. May I suggest a category be established wherein those desirous of advertising can showcase their wares. This may stop these posts from appearing in other categories. You could even charge a fee.

Thanks for your suggestion! We have tried doing this in the past but unfortunately most spammers want to advertise for FREE!

Here's another guy who came to this forum and posted Scam in all sections of Traderji. Yes I am saying Scam and not Spam as it is really a Scam.

You can immediately bring such posts/threads to my notice and I will delete them. For more info read How to report a Bad Post.

just like the number of posted by a member, the number of spam reported & accepted may be shown against the name of each forum member.

All members who resort to advertisements and/or surrogate ads have been banned and all their posts/threads deleted. So there is no question of tagging them.

dear traderji,

if this is in response to my post, i would like to clarify that, what i was referring to was, that the members who REPORT A SPAM may be credited with the number of reported spams, and not that the SPAMMER may be given the credit with the number of spams.

i am the last person to encourage spammers.

thanks for your promt actions you have been taking on reported spams, lest this place would not have been as enjoyable as it is now.

Sorry Murthy! I did'nt get what you were trying to say the first time around.

Unfortunately right now we do not have the tagging system where we can reward members who report spam. Will check with the developers on this.
