I came across a forum where members met and became good friends. Cannot such get totogethers be organised on this forum city wise. We can learn so much more from each other like that than on the net. People who do not want to meet can opt out. Learning apart, it is natural curiosity to want to meet people with whom one has been interacting regularly on the net.

It is a good idea to arrange a meet of people interested in investments. Sh50, thank you for coming up with this idea.

I am reading a book on world famous traders. Many of them have mentioned that they had not one but several mentors and most of them incurred a big loss before they became successful. In light of this and the subjectivity of Technical analysis, meetings would really be fruitful. There is no conflict of interest either as one person's profit cannot cause another's loss. I am based in Delhi and open to meeting other Delhiites on this forum.

This is an extract to Joy’s explicit informative post in psychology section
http:////www.traderji.com/showthread...=2515#post2515 "Only a small minority produced outstanding returns(the top 5% had an average return over 2.41% a month and only 1% had a return over 4.86% a month. Professional investors do not fare all that much better as half of all mutual funds fail to beat the S&P 500 index every year." This only corroborates traderji’s view that 95% of the traders fail in the stock market. I have posted elsewhere that Banks would invest in the stock market directly rather than lend money against securities if they were smart enough. That is why I had suggested in this post that people should try and meet and learn as much as possible from one another. There is no conflict of interest as one’s profit is not going to result in another’s direct loss. It would be a win-win situation. If people can meet for Lions or Rotary, why not us. We should have a city wise list of members –people who want to meet can meet- others can opt out. Doesn't CNBC too organize investor camps? Another good reason is that unlike the US, metastock does not give free seminars in India. As my friend creditviolet has said for Bangloreans in his post above, let me reiterate " O Delhiites, you are welcome" or as Karll Marx would say" Traders and investors of Delhi, unite. You have nothing to lose but your ignorance." Last edited by sh50; 31st January 2005 at 06:54 PM. |
