TIPS - No Thanks !!

Dear Traderji

I joined this forum about two months back. I found this forum very informative and have learnt a lot from the excellent posts by yourselves, Saint , AmitBE, Ravi T and CV. I have immensely benefited from this forum.

However of late I find many new members are posting Recommendations based on some TIPS received from some Reliable source etc

. There are also many new members thanking them for such TIPs. I think that this is a very unhealthy trend. This may result in many new comers losing money and eventually faith in the stock market .

This forum has maintained a standard. I wish this forum should not become like some of popular forums (No Names), which consist of mostly such so-called tips (100% returns within two months etc etc. ) and ego clashes of the members. (Frankly..... I find some these quite interesting… Like reading Fiction

)

Many may feel that freedom of opinion (Posts) is more important. My opinion is that we should try to discourage such posts. Of course we have the disclaimer mentioned at the bottom, but is that enough? I suggest that you should look into this seriously. Maybe I am opening a Pandora’s box, but I request the views of other members also.

I totally agree with you. What kind of reliable sources, everybody is here to gain some knowledge and if the tips are provided, from some blackbox, then the tip users will eventually loose money as the newcommers are not aware of TA, they will tend to mover to the thread where these tips are available and they are gone with the wind.

I think that such posts should be avoided by the forum members themselves. As the adult ourselves, it is our moral duty to share our experiences not the tips or any other info related to trading numbers. Let the newbie's learn step by step and mature themselves as time passes, ITS NOT A GET RICH SCHEME, its a business and purely involves your mindskill.

Anybody, if felt offended, by my post, I would appologize for it.

I agree entirely with the sentiments expressed.One such member has been posting day trading tips.I kept track of his tips and they were initially off the mark, but he continues to provide tips without a word of explanation.And when finally one of his guesses proved right he keeps crowing about it hitting the circuit.Let this be a serious forum and not a blog where anyone comes in and expresses an opinion without even moral responsibility to the consequences.

I think its becoming more serious now, that too with the bull run we had. I think one needs to guide such new comers to some quality TA learning threads like : "Teach a man to fish..", etc
