How does one add a poll to a thread?

#1
Hello all,

I'd like add a poll to a thread that I've started. I've looked everywhere I could think of, but haven't been able to find a way of doing this. Could someone help me out?

Thank you.

To create a poll when you post a new thread, simply click the 'Yes, post a poll with this thread' checkbox at the bottom of the page, and set the number of possible responses you want to include.

When you click the submit button, you will be taken to the poll creation page, where you can specify the question and the list of responses you want to include.

You may also want to specify a time limit for the poll, so that (for example) it stays open for voting for only a week.

Thank you, Traderji, for your response. I went back to my thread, clicked on 'Thread Tools', and found the option of adding a poll (this option, for some reason, didn't appear earlier).

I was disappointed to find, though, that I could offer a maximum of ten different responses. I am attempting to get feedback on the main players in the online broking arena (about 8 in number), and would like to offer two different responses associated with each player, 'Satisfied' and 'Not Satisfied'. Specifically, I'd like the responses to be Sharekhan-Satisfied, Sharekhan-Not Satisfied, ICICI-Satisfied, ICICI-Not Satisfied etc. The results of such a poll would give members an idea of what percentage of any particular broker's clients are satisfied with it. All other polls that I've seen here have users vote for a broker if they're happy with that broker, but have no provision to record dissasfaction. Since some brokers' client bases are larger than others', the results of these polls can be misleading. In view of this, would it be possible for you to increase the limit on the number of choices a poll can have? For your reference, the thread I've started is at

Thank you.
