I think its a good idea to keep some limit instead of no limit on searches altogether. They are quite resource hungry and needs to be used prudently, especially , when membership has grown so much and it is most visited site in its category.

Right. It can potentially slow down the entire site.

My suggestion is to reduce the time from 30 to 15 secs. Also some rotating adds (alongwith a time ticker) can be displayed to reduce the boredom of the wait. (This will hopefully generate some addl revenue for the site )

Think search preferences can already be saved Never used the feature though.

Thank you very much for heeding to our feedback.Please let us know the number of replies received to our posts.You can use the same principle as is used in case of Private Messages, that is ,you can notify us by saying that ,YOU RECEIVED XX REPLIES TO OUR POSTS. As the reply is viewed it is then number is automatically reduced by ONE.

Columbus, let it remain buddy. We don't want a situation where server overload causes the site to slow down or go down altogether, do we?

And when you are clicking on any of those Search links make sure you click them once - not a double-click (I had this problem once because of a malfunctioning mouse).
