asish isnt there a thread already http://www.traderji.com/your-feedbac...please-11.html
I think there is lot of unwanted things going on .We need more mods . Lots of newbees asking all the basic questions again and again . They should search first . Newbees should not be allowed to start a thread before they make 50 posts or so . There should a sections for collection of best threads . .. Repping a poster should be allowed ,some how I am not able to do it . |

I have been noticing that since last 6 months the ugly fights have increased drastically between the members of forum. In my view there should be a system where Traderji along with moderators should create a 5 point warning system for all the members of this forum. As long as there is any discussion or cross questioning regarding analysis of Equities, commodities, etc its perfectly alright but the moment anyone makes a rude comment that is not linked to the subject 1 point of warning should be deducted and the post for which the warning has been given should be highlighted , anyone who gets 5 warning points should be banned immediately no matter how senior the member is. I think this warning system will clean the forum from Bad weeds

but there was no response from traderji itself,,, this forum contains so much valubale treasure... points which i think should be taken in account 1...every new member comes and gives his intoduction s,,,in new thread..raher a common thread for introduction should be made// 2....suppose i am working on my thread,...and want to switch to asish das thread,,,, a quick link should be made,,, for good threads. 3..moderators / advisors should be made....more,,, 4..taderji ,,and moderators should...grade complusory on good threads,,,raeson raects as filter for evryone.....when he / she is new to forum 5,,unnecassry,,,,debates not realted to stocks/ insdiactors/mkt...should imm deleted off giving warning ,,as one memebr said,,,,in that way.. memebrs who are moderators....or seniors.ao advisors....their names should highlight in different colours. opening of new threads should be minimised........,,,which soon close after 10/20 post,,,, decoram should be ,,,imposed....this is really must/ must,, many more but time to think,,, after all i ma very good in management consider these points,,,,and if u find,,,its worth,, and fruit ful..then apply renu sorry if i had spoken rough/ there is no ontention to hurt or point anyone.. |

All of us were newbies some or the other time in life so also on this forum. Quest for knowledge is an innate behaviour and disallowing to start a thread I think will be against the true spirit of the forum. A person new to the forum may not be new to trading. I can understand the irritation of seeing the same questions popped up again and again and / or seeing unrelated posts but we need to devise a way to tackle the issue and not workarounds. People are starting new threads either because they do not know how to search effectively and / or they do not want to take the trouble of searching; they want quick answers. They are also probably getting lost by seeing hundreds of threads posted in multitudes of sub-forums. We should help them get what they want so that it creates less nuisance by seeing unrelated posts everywhere. I propose following. 1. To handle the first lot can we have better searching mechanisms, say something like autocomplete option configured on the basis of most frequestly used keywords, 'how to', 'I want to' lists ? This will engage searcher positively and his interest in searching will grow everytime he finds answers to his queries, with more chances of him using search option again and again. This will also reduce aimless wandering saving valuable bandwidth of traderji servers. The results page can also display quicklinks reading something like "Related links" educating the searcher positively. 2. I am proposing to have a series of dropdown lists enabled one after another; say 1st one having a list of major forums then depending on forum selected, enabling 2nd dropdown list with sub-forums then 3rd dropdown box showing titles of all threads, having sticky threads first, then star-rated threads followed by most active threads, and so on. These dropdown boxes should be visible on all pages so that jumping from one thread to another is easy (is this what you wanted Renu ?) 3. There should be dedicated dropdown lists titled 'I want to' giving predefined options like 'introduce myself', 'know how to search traderji effectively', 'know more about day trading', 'know more about Forex trading' and so on, each directing searcher to specific forums/sub-forums/threads. 4. Each thread writer has to define scope of his thread precisely (may be in a separate text box) and this scope is highlighted on each and every page of the page. The tooltip of the title should display this scope. This will give an idea to the searcher of the possible contents of the thread without clicking on it. Actually this can be done by writing an effective title also but writing the scope clearly eliminates other options and keep every participant focused. 5. Also dropdown links like search recent posts on "day trading", "EOD databse for Amibroker", "ICICI Direct", "brokerage houses", etc. with keywords taken from "scope" defined while starting the thread / name of forums/sub-forums. 6. Dropdown list like search all recent posts by <USERNAME> 7. After all the above or following even better mechanisms to serve the purpose, if someone posts unrelated queries (although valid) in some threads, it should be replied with a standard reply say something like <UNRELATED> by moderators and while parsing this text, the reply should get converted into a pre-formatted text describing something like "you have posted your query in inappropriate thread / similar queries already answered. To know how to search effectively to get answers for your queries, click here.... etc.etc.". Ignoring such posts is the common reply I see everywhere but that does not educate the participant on where is he going wrong. Constructive replies like this will not only educate that person but everyone who sees such replies. The suggestions above may not pass all possibility / feasibility / effectiveness tests, but more brain-storming on this will surely lead to a simple, effective and working solution. Best regards, Abhay |
