For many naive and experienced investors lack of information can delay decisions or may not give insight about the best use of investment products/options that may fit individual requirements.
I would suggest you to have a section prepared by experts indicating the Investment Options on different types of investments (say FD, Equities, Bonds, different types of MFs, RD, other small saving schemes). It could showcase - Entry costs - Investment Horizon (lockins) - Exit options and costs - Taxes (on income, on sale (short & long term capital gains)) - Expected Returns - Minimum Investment required (may vary) In some cases returns cannot be accurately calculated but just a hypothetical illustration can be shown. This would help investors know which investments are worth taking the plunge. To simplify/focus better one investment class (say Bank Deposits) can be discussed every week to showcase all the various investment schemes with that class (say FD, RD, Time deposits, etc) and provide more details on entry and exit costs, tax implications and other aspects and suggest a recommended way to invest in the product. |
