Read it anyway.

My question is: Ask yourself ,"Would you have made the same choice? "

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves learning-disabled children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended.

After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question:

"Its proclaimed by all that when not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does is done with perfection.. and Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son?"

The audience was stilled by the query. The father continued. "I believe
that when a child like Shay, physically and mentally handicapped comes into
the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and
it comes in the way other people treat that child."

Then he told the following story:
Shay and his father had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball.
Shay asked, "Do you think they'll let me play?"
Shay's father knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but the father also understood that if his son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

Shay's father approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not
expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, "We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I
guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth
inning."

Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a
team shirt. His Father watched with a small tear in his eye and warmth in
his heart. The boys saw the father's joy at his son being accepted.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was
still behind by three. In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove
and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was
obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from
ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with two
outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat. At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?

Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but
impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball. However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact.

The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The pitcher again
took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch
came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher. The game would now be over.

The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the
ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.

Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out
of reach of all team mates. Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, "Shay, run to first! Run to first!" Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base.

He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled. Everyone yelled,
"Run to second, run to second!" Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran
towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base.

By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball ... the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team. He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for
the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too,
intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head.

Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled
the bases toward home. All were screaming, "Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way
Shay"Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him
by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, "Run to third!
Shay, run to third!" As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and
the spectators, were on their feet screaming, "Shay, run home! Run home!"
Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit
the grand slam and won the game for his team.

"That day", said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face,
"the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity
into this world".Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter,
having never forgotten being the hero and making his father so happy, and
coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the
day!
Great Post,RK.........and thank you,my friend.

Please read till the last ..... a very touching story

A true story sent to me by a friend :
Selfless Love

My wife called, 'How long will you be poring over that newspaper? Will
you come here and make your darling daughter eat her food?' I tossed the
paper away and rushed to the scene.
My only daughter Sindu looked frightened. Tears were welling up in her eyes. In front of her was a bowl filled to its brim with Curd Rice.
Sindu is a nice child, quite intelligent for her age. She has just turned eight. She particularly detested Curd Rice. My mother and my wife are orthodox, and believe firmly in the 'coolingeffects' of Curd Rice!
I cleared my throat, and picked up the bowl. 'Sindu, darling, why don't you take a few mouthful of this Curd Rice? Just for Dad's sake, dear. And, if you don't, your Mom will shout at me'I could sense my wife's scowl behind my back.
Sindu softened a bit, and wiped her tears with the back of her hands.
'OK, Dad. I will eat - not just a few mouthfuls, but the whole lot of
this. But, you should...' Sindu hesitated. 'Dad, if I eat this entire
curd Rice, and promise to eat it in future too, will you give me whatever I ask for?'
Oh sure, darling'. 'Promise?' 'Promise'. I covered the pink soft hand
extended by my daughter with mine, and Clinched the deal.
'Ask Mom also to give a similar promise', my daughter insisted. My wife slapped her hand on Sindu's, muttering 'Promise',
without any emotion.
Now I became a bit anxious. 'Sindu dear, you should not insist on getting a computer or any such expensive items. Dad does not have that kind of money right now. OK?'

'No, Dad. I do not want anything expensive. Slowly and painfully, she
finished eating the whole quantity.

I was silently angry with my wife and my mother for forcing my child
Eat something that she detested. After the ordeal was through, Sindu
came to me with her eyes wide with expectation. All our attention was
on her.

'Dad, I want to have my head shaved off, this Sunday!' was her demand.

'Atrocious!' shouted my wife, 'A girl child having her head shaved off?
Impossible!'

'Never in our family!' my mother rasped. 'She has been watching too
much of television. Our culture is getting totally spoiled with these TV programs!'

Sindu darling, why don't you ask for something else?
We will be sad seeing you with a clean-shaven head.'

'No, Dad. I do not want anything else', Sindu said with finality.

'Please, Sindu, why don't you try to understand our feelings?'
I tried to plead with her.

'Dad, you saw how difficult it was for me to eat that Curd Rice'. Sindu
was in tears.

'And you promised to grant me whatever I ask for. Now, you are going
back on your words. Was it not you who told me the story of King
Harishchandra, and its moral that we should honor our promises no matter
what?'

It was time for me to call the shots. 'Our promise must be kept.'

'Are you out your mind?' chorused my mother and wife.

'No. If we go back on our promises, she will never learn to honor her
own. Sindu, your wish will be fulfilled.'

With her head clean-shaven, Sindu had a round-face, and her eyes looked
Big and beautiful.

On Monday morning, I dropped her at her school. It was a sight to watch
my hairless Sindu walking towards her classroom. She turned around and
waved. I waved back with a smile.

Just then, a boy alighted from a car, and shouted, 'Sinduja, please
wait for me!'

What struck me was the hairless head of that boy. 'May be, that is the
in-stuff', I thought.

'Sir, your daughter Sinduja is great indeed!' Without introducing
herself, a lady got out of the car, and continued, that boy who is
walking along with your daughter is my son Harish.

He is suffering from... ... leukemia.' She paused to muffle her sobs.

'Harish could not attend the school for the whole of the last month.

He lost all his hair due to the side effects of the chemotherapy.
He refused to come back to school fearing the unintentional but cruel
Teasing of the schoolmates. '

Sinduja visited him last week, and promised him that she will take care
of the teasing issue.

But, I never imagined she would sacrifice her lovely hair for the sake
of my son!

Sir, you and your wife are blessed to have such a noble soul as your
daughter.'

I stood transfixed. And then, I wept. 'My little Angel, you are teaching
me how self-less real love is!'

*The people on this planet who live on their own terms maybe happy but happiest are those who change their terms for the ones whom they love.

Life ends when U stop dreaming...
Hope ends when U stop believing... .
Love ends when U stop caring....
Friendship ends when U stop sharing...

SO HERE I AM SHARING THIS STORY !!!! Enjoy!!!!!!

There is a story of about a sea captain who in his retirement skippered
a boat taking day-trippers to Shetland Islands.
On one trip, the boat was full of young people. They laughed at the old captain when they saw him say a prayer before sailing out, because the day was fine and the sea was calm.

However they weren't long at sea when a storm suddenly blew up and the
boat began to pitch violently. The terrified passengers came to the captain and asked him to join them in prayer.

But he replied, "I say my prayers when it's calm. When it's rough I attend to my ship."

Here is a lesson for us......

If we cannot and will not seek God in quiet moments of our lives, we are not likely to find him when trouble strikes.

We are more likely to panic. But if we have learnt to seek him and
trust him in quiet moments, then most certainly we will find him when the going gets rough.
excellent, fantastic, mindblowing. its touched my heart.

Hello Yogi, I was a bit confused, trying to link your post to earlier posted messages hence the confusion. Reading your post in isolation, then there is no confusion !!!!!

Thanks for reading my posts.
