Hi

Sometimes one is too engrossed in his professional activities to remember that there are other facets to this world.

So I thought I will give one or two web site addresses that I think visiting worthwhile.

To keep it short just a oneor two line description and the main link.
If they visit they may post their comments and reviews.

To start with

http://www.gutenberg.org/

This web site is a free project of putting all copyright free books on the web.It has 18,000 books available for download free of cost from well known authors.

Hi

Today's Website

http://www.wikipedia.org

The biggest multilingual free-content encyclopedia on the Internet having Over two million articles in different languages. If you know something is wrongly written you can just correct it. It is based on Community model and now you can become member to be able to edit its article written by any member( earlier anybody can do that) So content keeps getting corrected and revised. Its accuracy is more than 90%.In fact, I have corrected some of the India related articles. I love it for its vastness and openness. A must visit site.

Hi

Today's choice

http://www.about.com

About. com was founded in 1996 with a simple premise, that people are the best Guides to the Internet. We have built on that belief over the past decade. Today, when you read an article on About.com, you are tapping into a powerful network of 500 Guides -- smart, passionate, accomplished people who are experts in their field. Our Guides have written books, appeared on national television and won many awards in their field.

Check them for definitions of most of the terms you want to know about.Historical information inbrief is also available. The second one is more American centric.

In your own words, "Sometimes one is too engrossed in his professional activities to remember that there are other facets to this world.

So I thought I will give one or two web site addresses that I think visiting worthwhile."
