Hedge funds in india

I under stand this is the wrong place for this thread but i wanted to know if SEBI allows its citizens to create hedge funds? In other words like mutual funds are domestic in india ( UTI mutual fud, SBI mutual fund) are hedge funds also exisiting in india in the same way?

The current regulations do not permit Hedge Funds (Whether Indian or Foreign) in India.
