nikkei 5.30 am to 11.30 am IST

hang seng 7.30am to 2.30pm IST.

ftse 12.30 pm to 9pm

some countries has different local time during summer and winter. for example the time difference between uk local time (mind you not GMT) and IST in the summer is 4 hours 30 minutes while in winter its 5 hours 30 minutes.

hi narayan,
just go to the link.

http://finance.*****.com/q/bc?s=%5eNSEI&t=1d&c=

it will give the intraday graph for nifty from *****.

go to the bottom of the page and put in the code of the indices you want, in your case the dow (^dji) in the box "get basic charts for another symbol"

in the graph you will see the local time in the x axis. just adjust the same with the time difference you get the Indian equivalent.

this way you can get it yourself info about any market.

It was your idea that prompted me to include the starting & closing time for important indices in world portfolio of CoolIntra. May be you can have a look.

hi narayan,

you may visit the link below:

http://in.finance.*****.com/intlindices?e=americas

but the important indices from this link are taken and with a weightage given to each, a single number world index was attempted to be arrived at in the tetracool's coolintra spreadsheet.

this single number %Change value is expected to represent the world's mood at any point of time, particularly before the opening of the indian markets, which is of great relevance to us.

suggestions for improvising this methodology are welcome & cool will be too happy to incorporate the accepted changes.

Hi Murthy
I thought I will take the credit of incorporating the world indices to myself . You caught me.

And yes, please suggest to better the sheet. I think we can give some more thoughts to the weightage given to the different indices.

Best Regards
Coool.

Hi Gvnarendra
Thanks for the great link.
May be some one from statistics background can analyze on better correlation between the different indices and the world market. What I can see today from the world portfolio sheet in CoolIntra is that overall my portfolio value has increased. So, I expect another rise in Indian indices today.
Best Regards
Coool.
