not really educational since these days the scene is far away from whats shown in the movie...
but definitely interesting for most... the ambience at pits is awesome

Glad you found it interesting. For me it was more educational . Why? Because of the simple fact why often you hear adaptability is the key in anyone's survival in this business.
No one is immortal in this game. Darwinism expalined!!
Be prepared. Just imagine if electronic trading has to go back to pit's then how many will survive.. will I survive?? errrhgh...!!

Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by ''scene is far away from what is shown in the movie'' ? Would be greatful if you can show some insight into real pit trading scenario.

ummm, not really these days, they wanted to show the transition from pit trading to electronic trading. It was much generalized and instead they could have shown some cool trading stories... For eg. like The Pit Bull by Schwartz. The movie could have been about the latest challenge these guys faced- nyse turning hybrid.
About real pit trading scene, its full of very hard-@ss guys. For eg. consider general military movie to Full Metal Jacket.
