Hi Team,
A friend of mine who works for a reputed brokerage company has informed me to subscribe to magazine called "Capital Market". Which provides fundamental & technical information about different sectors. Also good information about mid cap stocks , with a good & easy explanation.

I have purchased this magazine and found it very informative!

Any recommendation on the pro & con's of this magazine????

Well capricon,
I'm new to this mumbo jumbo of the stock markets. I find the magazine very informative when it comes to mid cap stock. However since i was new, i'm a bit skeptical about the articles or information available in the magazine, Also I haven't heard much about the magazine from anyone else.Nor did i find anything mentioned about that mag on this forum
Hence would appreciate it much, If experts or tenured trader over here could shed some light on my query?

cm is an old and reputed magazine. (from my uncle who has been investing for 25 years now) their website is good too. its one of my many stops before the market opens, to see how they see the market that day.

Only that information is useful which has an impact on the scrip and you make a profit.

I m not interested in commentry.
My interest is same as your interest "money".

The news which comes late to you after the impact or thenews which comes to you first but doesn't has an impact. There is no distinction regardless of the source.
Both are "crap".

I haven't seen latest issues, but they used to have a nice database at the end, with all scrips arranged as per sectors with most of fundamental data like earnings, sales, PE ratio, etc. Getting that database in 50 Rs is bargain.
As far as news and other articles are concerned, u can get similar stuff on net in free.
But some of us still like the feeling of reading a book (we are grown with that style of reading) so it always feel good to read from paper.

In my view, they are good for reading. Don't try to apply their recommendation and trade on them.. Trading is lot more then just buying. If you don't follow other important parts of trading, then it is more likely that u will loose following magzines reco..

Have you ever tried to look at the ratio of Sell Reco to Buy Reco in such magzine ? you will know it yrself.

Happy Trading

Hi,
It is good to have magazine as a reference. But I am not sure about using it as an advisor. Be sure yourself. If you want to invest directly in equities better learn some form of analysis- either technical or fundamnetal. Fundamnetal is difficult since you cannot have so much information and tools at your hand unless you have a running business of Stock markets in form of a brokerage company or any such thing. Also core knowledge is an issue. Technical is something that you can learn with patience and perseverence. If that is not possible for you better go through the mutual fund route.
