What do you do during trading hours?

Some commodity traders trade 12 hours+ 5 days a week. For me it is a challenge to be in front of the screen 9.15 to 3.30 as it is psychologically draining. In fact, that's one reason that I am more inclined to take positional trades than day trade.

What is your experience.? Please answer. This poll will not be based on numbers, but on trader's experiene and psychology :

The question is :

1. How many hours you trade.?
2. What do you do during that time besides watching the screen.? e.g Loggin on to traderji/Chatting with fellow traders/watching TV etc.

1. I feel just 3-4 hours of effective trade is enough :thumb: Sitting too long does not help in any way other than draining oneself.

2. I listen to House music while watching the screen in those 3-4 hours :)

3-4 hours of comfortable trade in your pyjamas works wonders over any job in the world :D Honest!
Nothing beats working in pyjamas :thumb:

I agree with you that it is a challenge to be in front of the Screen from 0900 to 2330, with plethora of emotions that one experiences.

To add, at times Commodity trading can be even more stressful than Stock Trading due to currency swings & high leverage.

Now to answer your Q,

1. 14 hrs (NSE & MCX)
2. TraderJi, Youtube, Online Gaming ..... anything that helps me not to overthink about the trade in hand

I would also like to know from people how do they protect their eyes when they spend quality hrs in front of screen for trading.Any exercise or drops they use on daily basis?
It helps to look at far objects for 2-3 mins after every 20 mins of screen. Additionally, doing random body stretches is advisable from time to time, this goes a long way, especially when the sitting posture is not right. (Which is rarely right)

I think I agree with you on this.... over a period of time, trading few quality hours is more productive. Long hours can be emotionally draining.

Ofcourse one should not be looking at the screen all the time. Also, if feeling eye strain, better to visit an opthalmogist.

Hello,

Based on my Experience...i truly belongs to forex markets...i have studied all markets stocks, futures, commodities, forex and the reason why i Trade forex i already explained at some other thread.

1A)I trade nearly 16 hours and appointed a employee for another 8 hours.
Actually i automated the every process of trading except the entry.the system will give Alarm about entry but it didn't initiate the Trade.but exits are automatic.

2A)Actually i didn't watch the screen for 16 hours,and only stay alert for 16 hours,during this time ....i do..
1)cooking new recipies
2)drink lot of coffee.
3)Reading Books (off-course related to trading).
4)spend some time at traderji
5)watching youtube videos.......
