Mind circus

#1
Dear forum members,

Im facing a situation in my trading and Im looking for a solution. Im sure the experienced traders will be able to understand the problem well. Ill be grateful if some of you can give me some ideas on how to work out on this one.

Mind circus during live trading

I have worked with two systems for three months paper trading. Ive my set of rules and then few fine stuffs that act as clues when to stay out. In short, Ive knowledge plus a little experience of the systems. What happens is when I sit for live trading my mind plays a circus and it makes me doubt the setup or outright reject the setup. I call this as a circus because it is well orchestrated and it happens every day.

But then there also comes the add moment when Im able to get out of the trap and get in the zone where Im clearly seeing what is happening in the market. I want to be in a situation where by I can access that zone when I want and not at the mercy of my mind. I do have the feeling of how it is when Im in the zone but it happens on very few occasions.

In past one year, Ive also worked on my overall thinking process to clear out a lot of biases and emotional clog that I had held for a longtime in my life. After having released a lot of negativity out of mind Ive been able to look at the price movement and it has helped me find more opportunities and get the clues and also at times the intuitive feeling about the market. But it is taking long time to translate the same thing in the real time environment.

Im keen to work on myself so as to make trading effortless. I can understand the resistance I have inside and sometimes I can see myself clearly as two people inside me, One who knows about my system and method of trading and other who is creating doubt, anxiety and fear. Ive developed this personal frustration as I can see that what I set out to do is out there but Im not doing what Im supposed to do.

I hope I have been able to convey m problem. Ill be thankful to anyone who can suggest me how to go about this inner change that I need to do.

I have, on my trading room wall, following text printed in BOLD, they are very useful in a problem which u r facing currently I used to face a few months back...It has helped me a lot and hope will be useful to you too:

1 As nobody can accurately predict the market, you need not regret if you can't.

2 Whenever you face with dilema about trading, read following:
a) What the RULES are saying? Do as they tell.
b) Assume as if it is your Boss's money and he is on vacation and he has assigned you to handle his trading and you will be judged on the basis of how you follow the RULES and not how much money you make.
c) Your aim is not to make money but to trade well.
d) Remember, You are not responsible for winning or losing, Your Strategy and Market is…

3 If you are feeling angry, happy, excited, curious, tenced, greedy, thrilled, joyous, worry, sad, annoyed, frustrated, uncomfortable, depressed, scared, hesitent, confused, upset, disappointed, regret, revenge, humiliated…………then you are still not DISCIPLINED !!!

Apparently, I found meditation to be a good solution for my problem in all walks of life.

I took up a guided meditation audio tape and started to practice. It was just following instructions. Then one day I met an uncle, he has inclination towards spirituality. He explained to me few things and asked me to read Bhagvad Gita to create a base for my understanding of self. He said that only when I understand self I will know why to do Yoga and meditation. When I meditate what do I meditate on and How I go about it.

I had knowledge about I ( the real self) through few articles I had read. After talking to my uncle they all that information I had started to make sense. So this gave me the base for meditation. Focusing on I and getting more connected to the higher self.

Once when the I started to practice meditation on everyday basis. I could observe myself, the thoughts that are coming, why they are coming, the actions I'm taking, the impulses and their triggers. This gave me a good chance to start to make changes in my inner self in a very gradual manner. This is a journey and the more one continues to walk this direction the pure one gets.

the guided mediation audio is Mark Certo - Samadhi : The Ultimate in Quiet Mind.

buccas
