Say you are not doing good as a trader, I doubt if you build your muscles and get back to trading it would help. To be a good trader discipline is very important. Once you start making money you would realise that you have changed and your legs will auto pilot to the closest gym.

Hello
Discipline is important, and practicing it in our day to day life maybe the only way to get it. That seems to be a good conclusion. It maybe Gym for some, keeping away from extra calories or other things.. for some, maybe getting up early and putting in those extra 2 hours of studies for others. And yes as traders, taking all the entry / exit signals including the stops diligently and not exceeding the position sizing would be also a part of that discipline So being a better trader is part of the package deal, just a small part of being a better person. Thanks nb |

Scientifically speaking, yes, regular exercise helps brain to think better as it increases blood flow to the brain.Trading is all about thinking with a clearhead.

![]() Regular exercise is not just about blood flows to the stomach or blood flows to the frontal lobes during sex, its more about the neurotransmitters released during vigorous exercise (like serotonin).Lets not forget that lack of exercise has been commonly attributed to Type2 Diabetes, cardiovascular disease etc. Also regular exercise helps in managing stress which is quite common among traders especially the tip-chasing, MACD and Elliott varieties. |
