Psychology plays a big part but I always say psychology will only be a differentiator when the players are of equal technical strength. If you keep working hard you will generally not encounter the problems of psychology and all that till you meet a rival of equal stature.
It is only at the highest levels that that psychology starts to become a big differentiator, because there both players have done all the technical work. They are approximately matched in most areas. That is when psychology plays a big part. -V. Anand

But CV Sir,

Even at lower levels psychology plays important role.... even a person is good at some technical things... when it comes to implementation it may flop! Say when one is in good profits.... booking profits... even though the trail SL is not yet hit! And then the scrip falls/rises more... and sometimes do not.... and because of those sometimes the trader many times do not wait for the trail SL... is it not here that psychology comes into play? even for beginners...

Regards

Sir, first of all I didnt say the above quote, Vishwanathan Anand the current world chess champion did.

Second, being good at 'some' technical things doesnt really help.Your game has to be well rounded and you must be on top of your game at all times.Afterall a lot of people make money in the markets only to lose it all and some more when the volatility increases.

You got annoyed with my views I did not intend that!

I know it is said by Mr. Anand! And tats y I expressed my views on that... if it was your quote then I would have thought several times before posting any thing like that !!

I completely agree with you that to be the top of the game! Survival of the fittest applies here!

I know this that many loose more than they earn! As you have mentioned in this forum somewhere that even after 200,300,500 % growth in equity it only takes 100% to loose everything!!!
But proper MM can help one to overcome it!

Now what I understand from your saying of being on the top of the game is that

Being "good" enough ! No one can be best right! There is always a better stuff!
Good enough in tech analysis/market analysis and keep on updating oneself and if required implement the new stuffs...
Focussed MM.
Constantly Improving psycho!!!

I hope this time I have not offended you
All the above said are IMHO !

Regards

Ah, I wasnt annoyed or anything! Why do I have a Clint Eastwood reputation around these parts

Things is, MM is also a technical skill, inability to book losses or profits is just as technical as getting the right entry. One hesitates because they have no idea whether the percentages are in favor of holding a position or exiting it. If one thinks deeply and works on their trading, everything can be thought of in technical terms.Psychology will always be something that compliments a traders skill and helps them achieve their potential, it will never be a substitute for a trader with a bad technique.

Clint Eastwood Is nothing in front of our very own CV

Yes now I absolutely got it what you mean by tech analysis! In your terms MM is also a tech ability! But that word you mentioned "hesitates" that is what I was referring to... Yes as you said if someone works hard and then IMPLEMENTS the trading rules religiously then it automatically psychology will follow the technicals

Thanks for not getting annoyed...

Regards
