Not much idea but one point to keep in mind is that there can be hidden quantities in both Buy and Sell ! One can give his trade to Sell 1000 shares and disclose only 100 ! In that case all we see is a Seller for 100 shares. This is for Cash segment only!

About Volume n Qty, dont know what to Trust - there r always discrepancies, compared to terminals , data providers , Google /Yahoo Finance.
its suicide to base our decisions /strategies / AFL on such inaccurate Volume/Qty data.

State bank is trading aroung 300. If a guy wants to buy 50 laks of shares at Rs.240 and places a order. Can we call it as real demand ? No.
His buy order of 50 laks shares will just show a big number on total buy qty. This order cannot have any direct effect on the price. But it will influence novice traders and can act as trigger making them buy the stock.

Please dont follow this toal buy:total sell logic.
