Strengths:
Margin Trading: Brokers allow u to take as much exposure on ur margin money as u dont loose it.
A daytraders job is over once his targets r acheived, that sometimes may be in a small time(even 1hr), and then he can leave the terminal for a movie

Weakness
Not for newbies, screaming with fear and greed.
Slippage costs often bite daytraders unlike those taking deleveries.
Requires split personality: At times patient and dormant like a recluse, then in a wink charging like a bull. As such may not suit temperament of some.
Requires focus all the time. Trading in more than two stocks at a time is not advisable.

Oppurtunities:
Huge profits that too in a while.
Some Professionals(especially those using mechanical systems) find that profits from daytrading are more consistent than those from Swing trading.

Threats:
Big losses may come in just as profits. I have seen ppl get numb due to strangulation(while covering) or if prices start moving in countertrend just when one enters.

Now Ajaybhai pls pin the weaknesses and threats so that we can move to Swing Trading.

Regards.

Hi lohiya,

Weakness in Swing Trading:
Many time prices opens with an upside or downside gap the next day due to some news. We should be prepared for that.

hi friends,

thanks for your responce to the analysis of trading types- day trading. I'll comeback soon to discuss over this issue. And we all will finally pin the threats and weaknesses of each and every system ASAP.

Will try to make a post tomorrow or day after and we will continue. Meanwhile you please continue the discussion. Our orientation only helps us in improving the systems. I remember a saying my friend used to tell "Systematic approach towards problems will yield ideal solutions."

Once again thanks for your participation.

Happy practicing technicals

Dear Ajay,

I have caught up late with your thread. Such a wonderful thread. You are such a nice person, who voluntarily come forward to keep the members educated about trading. Because of time constraints, I could not go through the entire contents of your postings. But I have cut and pasted in a word document to have a leisurely reading (of course, with your permission). You will definitely come out with more strength and enthusiasm to give the readers your valuable experience. I have seen many threads and many forums and no one has come forward like you spending so much of their time and energy with a selfless effort of teaching the beginners, with setback in your health.
I will pray for your speedy recovery. Please take care of your health first, we can wait, the market can wait.

With all the members wishing for your good health
you will definitely recover and regain your health and confidence.

Wishing a speedy recovery .
