Dear Siva

That was some quick expeiment done on the RSI of MA idea provided by Ajay.
The entry would be when the Indicator crosses above theupper threshold line and sell would be when the Indicator crosses below the lower threshold line. I did some trials with the following settings. It seems to be working on most frontline stocks. Enclosing the Infy chart with the buy and sell signals and te indicators. Of course one may have to fine tune the parameters to get good result for individual stock. The following setting seem to work well..

Moving average period - 13,
RSI period - 14,
Upper threshold line - 70,
Lower threshold line - 30.

the indicator crossing elow the lower threshold line would alsoprovide shorting oppurtunities.

regards

Karthik

Dear Karthik,

I dont know how I missed out on this thread, Its a great thread and a great leaning experience. Its nice to see how mind can work on creating a system and would be a great learning experience for all.

I am facing a a difficulty which I am sure would be faced by many here and if solved would definately help more ppl take interest in this thread and also learn and take initiative to develop systems. Though not directly related to your thread it, I am still posting it here so excuse me in advance.

After reading through all the pages I realised how powerful all the softwares are and how we can use them. I liked the idea but am not able to fully understand the post as I am not fully aware of how to use filters, MS Expert and exploration. If you or someone could provide a link where we could learn more about all the tools within MS, learn there uses, learn how to write formulaes for indicators and also how to put them in exploration for filterting stocks it would be of great help. It will help us understand and try out ourselves various discussions in this great thread and learn better. Maybe provide inputs too :-)

I tried the site of eqis which has a demo but could not learn a lot form there. Is there any e book available or any other source to learn from.

Kind Regards

Rahul

P.S Just a personal thought, Hope I am not alone in this direction :-)

Dear Rahul

Thanks for the nice words about this thread.

Yes, I do understand your problem with metastock. This is a problem faced by most of the beginners with various softewares. Unfortunately there are hardly any free training material available for metastock. Training for metastock has become a big business. Equis themselves are selling training CDs. The basic Training CD cost about 69$ and the advanced Training CD cost about 99$. Most of us learning by trial and error and going through various examples available on the net.

A small dedicated group of members have been exploring the possibilities to have some on line collaboraion or web conferencing to share knowledge better. If this works out we will plan a online training for members who are beginners on metastock and Amibroker. Let us keep our fingers crossed.

regards

karthik

Great idea, i will be one among the beneficiaries

Hmmm.... I should do something with my connection speed to attend these online sessions. And also with the software requirements (Windows NetMeeting (conf.exe) software only?).

Siva

Hi Siva

Sorry, forgot the AFL for the MA-RSI system chart. Enclosing the same.

Please not that when you change the paramenter in the Indicator also change the same parameters in the chart also. Otherwise there will be mismatch.

reagrds

Karthik
