Do Technical Analyst earn their living by Trading ?

#1
I have a very small doubt in my mind that the Technical Analyst we see so frequently and also admire, whether they earn their living (bread) by giving Technical Advise and getting paid by the channels OR by actually Trading in the Stock Market and earning from the super profits.
I thought that the later said is difficult, because if these guys earn from stock market then why are they wasting their time on the tv and sharing their secret formulas.

it's not that as we r trader we have dare to get loss
all persons have no same daring and physology.
so the fear factor of a person to person differ.
also dur se dekhanay se sab saaf -saaf nazar aata hay but when we goes inside than the greed , fear , hope in markets distract from our planning .

Well well . . . interesting topic you have touched upon

The answer to this is a clear unambiguous yes and no !!

Most of your tv guys are typical suckers with buy above xyz with stop of abc . . . nonsense.. just as i am typing a moron is saying 'IF NIFTY TRADES ABVOE 5260 IT IS LIKELY TO MOVE TO 5290 DURING THE DAY'.

Then you have your breed that teaches technical analysis. Obviously if they are so good why do they teach.

Well I had the same perception until I attended the ICICI Direct Institutue. That session was handled by a guy 'Bharat Dugar'. His session was wonderful. very practical. and yes funny and interesting tooo. During his lecture he also stated that he loves teaching and hence does it.. but only once in a couple of months. With what I could hear and the techniques he shared I am sure he would be a great trader. BCOZ two techniques he tought are real cash cows for me !!

So, the answer is - yes a lot of crap exists. But it is not right to paint everybody with the same brush.
