Is there anyone out here who's successful in Technical Analysis

Hi ,

I have been hit by a question again and again which made me ask this question out here. From all the members out here who use Ami broker, Meta , Falcon or any other charting tool , How useful has it been in making money. In short how many of u made money looking at technicals , it really works ? If yes , Why is it that all the CMTs/ Technical Analysts in other broking firms prefer giving calls out to clients rather than making most of it , Can a theoretical knowledge of Technical analyst make sure u make money 7 out of 10 times. Requesting all the senior / Newbies to post their experience.

apne chanel experts ko dekho......,they never fail, aur to aur apni paid tip dene wali websites ko dekho .....each day they claims our call zoom to 80%, total profit on 1 lot 30 K.

and yes......, by poll results I could not reach on a result....., may be u could.

I know the so called guys on tv or the tipsters never fail to claim they are god , only a few might be good , but the question still remains with so much of TA being spoken on this forum or rather all across the world. How reliable is it , for a few it might have made them rich but its only a handful of people. How abt people on Traderji ? Any Luck rather any consistent luck ? or its just in the air for everyone

I would say yes, but a cautious yes. The traditional things u learn in books and over the internet are only the beginning and not helpful in making money. But there is a way out if u think out of the box and apply variations. Basic need is market understanding and concepts related closely with the market structure.

Technical Analysis and Trading success are two entirely different things. I have seen some very successful traders who are not good analysts but they are extremely savvy traders. Also there are some good technical analysts but they can never be good traders. It is like asking can you win a war with a latest gun with you ? You also need trained and brave soldiers to use that gun in the battlefield and win the war. Trading requires much more and varied skills such as patience, discipline, MM, nerve, ability to accept mistakes and reverse....etc etc.....

The good news is if the technical analysis skills and trading skills are combined , one can definately be a profitable trader ...it is absolutely clear and certain....I have also seen some very successful and wealthy traders who are very good analysts too.....but it is for everyone to experience and find out for himself.....for me I am absolutely convinced that money can be made in trading on TA or charts.....but that is my experience.....every trader has to find that out hard way..... good traders will never waste their time in arguing what is certain to them.....swing trading is definately profitable on TA but even in daytrading I have seen traders who are profitable in 20 days out of 22-23 trading days in a month ,every month and month after month.....this sure is no manifestation of luck.....but it is the knowledge and skills of the trader which is working for him ....

I would say yes it is possible.

Don't try to be a analyst, be a trader, for this, you should follow any one system (TA) and implement it and trade.

Definitely it is possible to win in the trade with TA, no doubt.

@ smart trader - U said quite a few traders make money in day trading without TA , were u reffering to jobbers ? what do they do ? just trade looking at the screen , basically momentum trading

Since you are one of the most active members on this site , could u suggest me how do i take my goal forward ?
I basically aim to make trading as my only source of income , I am completely new to technical Analysis but been in the market as a fundamental analyst for 5 years . I want to take my goal forward , whats the right way to approach it , Do i need to learn TA , will it be a added advantage for me ? or should i take a different approach i.e. learn more of trading just looking at the screen. I am of a personal view that going for both screen and charting could be confusing though that looks to be the right way . Please guide me

nerves are equally important if not more in trading.

technical analysis gives you the foundation for success. if you dont know it, nerves will land you in trouble rather than help you.

courage is good if it is backed with knowledge. courage without knowledge is arrogant foolishness.
