Smile Volume as an important indicator

I am a novice at trading. However, looking at various stock indicators that are all based on price, I am a little puzzled that there are no major and definitive volume based indicators. In my opinion any volume based indicator would be an important forecaster for the stock movement. Could anyone let me know if there are such charts such as Volume along with Volume Moving Average available and where can I learn more about employing these.
