I do not know if someone already posted and tried this so I would like to post a swing trading EOD system primarily for indices but can also be used with stocks after careful selection of stocks. It was introduced by Larry Connors who was market wizard Linda Rashke's co author for the well known book on trading stratgies "Street Smarts". Larry has tested the system on 3 indices, the S&P, The Nasdaq 100 and the US Semiconductor index (SOX). Unfortunately the results are updated from 1994 till 2004 (10 yrs) only
It shows 81% accuracy for the S&P with a profit factor of a 3.66, i am sure you will admit its a very good performance as achieving such a high profit factor with such high accuracy in tandem is not so common
The system when tested on Nasdaq yields 78.43% win rate with 5.37 profit factor.
Same period testing on semiconductor index yields 69.44% with profit factor 3.01 again a really good performance considering the win rate and pf.
Document contains equity curve and yearly performance only thing trade by trade split up is not given.
This is designed for indices and ETF's but the author says can be applied to stocks with some careful selection.
As i am not so familiar with indian stocks i would be greatful if some kind member who has data can test this for the most suitable stocks and also test this on indian ETF's and some indices so we can see if itsl viable to trade
on nse or not.
