1 - The best settings will depend on the market that you are trading and the time frame. If your software permits, you can look at the equity for different settings to find the optimum setting.

2 - 12 = fast, 26 = slow, 9 = average

MACD is a faster signals to remedy the delay using dual-MA crossover. Personally (pls correct me if i am wrong), I think intraday price move less, the dual MA crossover may give wrong crossing signal or delayed. But worth trying MACD on an hourly intraday chart.

if so, 26 will means 26 hours (EMA). As for the numbers, I have not chance to try that out, maybe a 5day ~ 40 hours for long period? Any one found gd numbers, pls share too. :)

Hi, I have upload 2 images, with a typical active counter traded in SGX. With 26,12,9, MACD gives more false signals, since the crossing may happen more frequently.

I tried 50,25,9, the crossing is cleaning. but please still keep in mind that solely MACD may not give us 100% right-buy, sometimes. :) All happy trading!

precisely. :).. but to have a bit earlier the signal, you can shorten the period "9" to say 6. But.. to try out by traders.

Sometimes, it is better not to be disturbed by noise, delayed a bit is fine. MACD itself is already giving a faster signal then dual -ma.

Good point too. :)
