Pls pls Help me About my Career

First of all thanks to this platform.

I am Suman Banerjee. I have done CFA from ICFAI just passed Jan 2010. Looking for job since Feb regarding Equity Research openings but hardly found any. I am a bit mentally depressed.

So i need job wright now as i am 28 years old. As i have experience from market it is very tough to get into Equity research position without MBA/CA or unless one has 2-3 yrs experience in this field. Wright now i want move into Technical Analysis(TA). Becos with this i will have some work experience in my CV. Based on it i can go forward in my life.

Now question is from where should i get technical analysis guidance with job placement assurance .

I have red several post in Traderji and found some Institute which are

EquityRush

BIFM/BLB

BIFM used to operate kolkata but now they are closed in kolkata.
So i think i have to go to Delhi and do the course there. But i need job guarantee becos without this there will be wasting of time and money too.

I have come accross several post in traderji which said that doing course in BIFM or Equityrush is good and they provide placement.

So in this situation i need suggestion from all regarding wht should i do wright now? If anyone has done this TA course from this institute pls let me know.

My situation is quite similar to yours. I have completed my CFA from ICFAI in April 2010. Now, I am unable to get a job in Equity Research. There no suitable jobs in Delhi.

I think doing FATP program from ICFAI hyderabad can help.

I think doing FATP will not be good as u think. U can do the course for only knowledge enhancement purpose. From there u can hardly can get any job.
My one friend Saugata has done FATP(He is doing MS Finance). But still he searching for some good opening.

Thanks for FATP. I did not know it's difficult to get a job even after doing FATP.

I have tried job search in BPOs. Some r not giving good salary and some are not giving job to a CFA.

I think indian CFA is not as good as US CFA. It will take a good amount of time to get a job in equity research through indian CFA or we can learn IFRS and become an accountant in a BPO. I don't want to do that.

Actually what i have experienced in the last 3 month that u need to have CA or MBA from a coveted B-school. I think CFA us are not recruited in India if u r fresher. It is for enhancement purpose. If u got some experience e.g. 3-4 yrs under ur belt then cfa us can take u to some high position.

Whatever don;t loose hope. What ur thought about Equityrush/BIFM course about Technical Analysts. After doing this u can join as a analysts. And i think it will move us in the equity research field. but it may take some amount of time.
What's thought on that?

Is anybody there who have done the TA course from this Institute or any one know about the Institute.

It's Good but you will have to make two compromises

1 Job will be outside Delhi
2 Join at lower pacakge (salary).

In Delhi there are many institutes that teach Technicals but BIFM is te best of the lot. If u can find a mentor, it wil be the best option. You learn technicals from practical point of view.

You can start reading Trading for living by Alaxander elder. download it from esnips.com. This book is good for beginners as well as experienced. You will have a fair bit of idea of market psychology.

But i think doing ACCA will add colours to the cv. Even if 5 papers are passed, it can fetch a job. The fundamentalists must know accountig very well. in 2012
there will be convergence of US GAAP and IFRS. So this course is good to do know. Also, you can get a job and think about courses like these to add long term value. Fundamental equity research is much better and require sound understanding of accounting.

Is any body there to suggest me about TA course in BIFM or Equityrush?
