iCharts/ Metastocks..plz suggest for beginners

#1
Hi!

I want to undergo training in TA as a beginner.

I have shortlisted 2 people

One will be using icharts to train (Innobuzz, an institute)

Another will be using Metastocks to train (an experienced active TA and trader will be guiding and giving training sessions)

Though both training are intented for same cause...Training in TA....charts are same...but the difference is in tools...as per my small knowlege as beginner

I want suggestion of experts here...if I intend to become a full time trader in future after training...which one should I opt for...icharts OR metastocks for training

Though I can switch to metastocks later also, if I opt for icharts now.

But some people suggest that icharts is not as effective....there are more tools in metastocks...but it is quite expensive. Amibroker is another suggestion as some people told me

Plz guide...I am confused....as a beginner...which one should I opt for training

Amit, as a novice in TA I wud suggest to get some hands on exp of TA fundas on various free tools/not so expensive tools like iCharts,FCharts etc and once you start getting hold of things, you can switch to Amibroker,Metastock,IRIS etc...I did the same thing...

Happy Trading :)

Yahoo finance provides intraday charts with most popular technical indicators. Check it.

Anything that is free is not reliable and does not have consistency. Yahoo servers were down for Indian markets from 19th January to 11th February this year. I think I remember it right. Their data has lots of gaps.

Yahoo has a payment option for the service, they charge close 13$ per month, but they do not guarantee consistent data feed. Please take a subscription for data feed. MDP provides good intra-day day if you intend to check with any single stock or future in any trading session.

Well I am not sure if there is any thing "free" for Intraday...But I guess you can use paid service (monthly charges of around Rs. 700) of iCharts and InvestBulls which will give you good headstart. Then of course you can switch to paid data service feeds to get data directly into MS/AB and can do tons of analysis using various custom formulas and AFL's.

i advise to all to not spend much amt on TA becoz most of the things r available for free on internet ,just google whatever u want ,u will get it

secondly for NSE /BSE scripts intraday charts i can suggest free sites but not for trading but for only analysis purpose only becoz data is delayed for 5 minutes

Well I belive you can't do much with free tools (but that does not mean that I do not support them :) ). Of course some basic analysis can always be done and for a quick look as whatz happeing with price over time free tools are more than handy. But all these advanced TA tools which come for heavy price have their own benefits. One can take their learnings to new levels and use some complex tools like Gann line study etc to verify their analysis.
