Combination of Indicators

#1
Dear Friends,

After going through the postings on TA, which I have also tried to put in use, I would like to have views on the combination of Indicators used for trading. I understand that there is nothing called the best combination, but still then I would like to share as well as know what parameters and indicators are used simultaneously for optimum feasibility.

Please place your comments, suggestions and views.

Regards,

For intraday trading, I use time frames of 5 minute and 15 minutes and occassionally use 1 minutes also. My combination of indicators are:

1. Simple Moving Average of (10,20,50) - Moving average crossovers (both bearish and bullish) are put to maximum use.
2. Moving Average Convergence Divergence with the conventional parameters of 12, 26,09 - Centerline Crossovers, Crossovers of MACD and Signal Line are the identifying points
3. Slow Moving Stochastics with the conventional parameters - to identify divergences in overbought and oversold conditons

Sometimes I use RSI, with thresholds of 70 and 30 to identify overbought and oversold conditions.

I request other fellow contributors to kinly comment and provide suggestions.

I should book mark this thread, for choosing my best combination of indicators, for intraday, and swing trades. At present i am doing only delivery calls only on long term basis.

I wish that this thread should be active enough.

Dipen,

I use 10 min candles... reason 5 mins give mostly lead to whipsaw and 15 mins are slightly late to enter a intraday trade move.

Secondly avg traded price, support-resistance, pivots and OBV are gud for Intraday trade
and Bollinger Band of EOD chart often serves as good support and resis level in intraday

Combinations of indicators should be such that they are not related to each other. There is absolutely no need to couple MACD/RSI/SToch together. Even if you use one indicator out of this, your pupose should be solved. Gte in to the habbit of coupling non related indicators. For E.g - One can USe Price, RSI, OI and VIX to study trades in the derivatives market.

Tc.
