FII / DII Activity : Clarification Sought

#1
Dear All,

I have been trying to study the FII and / DII activity (EOD basis) for trend trading. I am also following the PC Ratio for the same. Can anybody please guide me in respect of my query, i.e.Does FII / DII activity on an EOD basis have a significant impact on trend reversals and how to identify the same.

Would request everyone to put in their comments.

Regards,

Dipen

Since last march till Nov.. Nifty trend has +ive correlation with the height of plant in my garden ? Does that mean I can trade nifty based on this stats, even though statistics tells me yes ?

In my view, it is much easier to read mkt trend by understanding hidden signals thrown by market, rather then using 2nd and 3rd level of correlation.
Yes, FII/DII/ PCR etc have an impact on mkt, but it very loosely defined correlation.

Happy Trading

DIIs and FIIs are the market movers.. other retail traders form a very small % of the overall market turnover.

Since they are the big players, they often end up doing things opposite to each other. When the FII segment is selling, you need someone to buy the huge truckloads they are selling .. and that volume of buying can only be done by DIIs .. and visa versa.

You really can't rely on one segment and try and follow what they are doing. Remember, both segments are highly educated and informed buch of professionals who think they really know what they are doing. So whom would you follow?

I think you follow the price action and forget about who is buying and who is selling. Ultimately, the charts factor in everything....
