Thumbs up Best Technical indicators

Dear Members

I am trading for past 2 years ,I haven't made any good profits only made some losses.
I am planing to learn good and reliable indicators.

I found MACD , RSI ,EMA are the good indicators( I know little bit on how to use this).

Experience people can please suggest some good indicators- that one must know (live without it) or which they you are following for years and found useful.

(Is there any indicator which uses volume)

I want to know only 4 to 6 indicators and expertise it
And whats about ATR ,A/D , ADX are these indicators useful.

Senior members help appreciated

Thanks
lalaka

please refer to my thread INDICATORS and OSCILLATORS.Just stick to 2 or 3 techniques ,not more than that.MACD with 9-EMA signal is very good ,to start with.I hope in long run your losses will be minimized to great extent.

Happy trading and all the best

If you enter the jungle of oscillators and indicators, you will find yourself totally confused. It is better to first describe your requirements - To identify the current trend of a stock (randomly selected on the basis of EPS and trailing P/E) you follow the MACD (many will say it is lagging behind the trend). MACD, in my opinion is a reliable indicator whereby you can identify the current trend undergoing. For Trading purpose, you select the "Fast Stochastic" and "Accummulation/Distribution oscillator". Regarding your querry, the indicator which is formulated on the basis of volume - OBV (On-balance-Volume - to identify whether the smart money is entering to the stock OR exiting the Stock), the Money-flow Index.

After getting experience with the indicators/oscillators - you should concentrate with the "Directional Movement Index, ADX" and 'Ease of Movement' indicators.

Thanks.

I do not use Amibroker. In the calculations of the oscillator SMA (Simple Moving Averages) are involved ,hence it shows LAG.That is the main drawback of this oscillator.

Perhaps this is a big list.Perhaps only one Oscillator, MACD will do the trick.
If your are unhappy/not getting the desired results ,just CHANGE with sample intervals from [9,12,26].
