1. Backtest your strategies to see if they work - Be aware of curve fitting problems when optimizing historical data
2. Because there is a large random factor with stock prices you can only make conclusions after many trades. If a system gives correct signals 60% of the time and erroneous signals 40% of the time you can not analyze the results after only a few trades.... Remember that people would kill for a system like the one above - you can't get it better than this! /V |

And what about the drawdown %? In a vast amount of intraday data,if a 40% losing system gives an intraday drawdown of 25%,for a position-sizing of 4 times leverage, then people will not kill others to get a 60% system, because they will not be able to contact the suicide-committed person, who owned that system!

You are amazing. You have unmasked me. After losing all my money years ago, I am paper trading only for the last 5 years (and still all I have is losses er paper losses)! CV gave me all his systems. Still I couldn't do a bit!!! Now I am going to stay in CV's house for 3 months to see what his gut feelings are everyday.
...Inappropriate.....Edited by me cos I was giving unsolicited advice. Last edited by beginner_av; 4th March 2008 at 10:48 PM. |
