Most important thing to learn before trading is to understand YOU. Learn about your nature, your emotions, your courage, your risk taking capacity. A trading timeframe, which is comfortable to me may not be suitable to you or to your friend. I may be a little slow to react and you may be swift in action. A person has to experiment and find out which time frame is most suitable for his style of trading. There is no one size fit all.

Dear members,
Attached is the analysis file as on 26/02/2008.

Sorry that I have prepared today's analysis file in a hurry as I am extremely hard pressed for time in some other matters. In fact, I have not even reviewed what I have typed, because there is absolutely no time for that. I again beg your pardon for the lengthy file posted today. I hope you get some valuable points from today's file.

Special Thanks to those members who have rated this thread.
Thanks and regards

Great insights by RSI.....really gave new dimension to me as to how to look at price-volume data and get deeply engrossed in it to come out with trading ideas.
Many a thanx RSI.

If someone urges you to trade or if you get an urge to trade each and every bounce/movement in the stock, learn to control such urges.
Have you observed how a lion hunts its prey? You must have seen it on TV.
Does the lion chase each and every animal in its sight? Does it try to hunt each and every animal that it can see? It does not. It runs after only those animals, which it feels that it can hunt and which it can overpower and which is within its reach.

Similarly, you need to take only those trades where the ratio between the commensurate profit and the attendant risk is skewed largely in favour of profit. You need to take only those trades where you are absolutely sure of future movement and its direction. Preservation of capital is first priority. If you are doubtful of the outcome of the trade, stay away from it. If you miss one trade, the market will not come to an end. But if you do not have any capital to trade, surely your trading carrier is going to end. Remember that and always

Dear Sudoku1,

Should one be like the Lion or like the Cheetah - who may go hungry for days, just to get the right prey. The extra long waiting of the Cheetah - does it not signify that Cheetah lacks confidence in himself & his method ?

first things first,
excellent board by RSI,i cant thank him enough for his generosity.I can only find saint's in tradrji, hence my 3 cheers to traderji as well.
second dear nandini on a lighter note plz do not confuse a predator(be it a cheetah or a lion or tiger who wait patiently to get the juiciest of the meat) with a fly(who jumps on anything and everything). My initial days in trading i was like a fly hovering over each and everyother stock, now everyday while trading i sit there and watch till i cant find tht prey of mine...lol,no offence to anyone on board.
my sincere appreciation to each one for contributing...
cheers

As Iyer's analysis predicted, today DLF has breached the Rs 800 level and went down although it recovered a bit by close. Now it is worth watching whether it will go below 785 which is a support level.

Congrats Iyer, for the accurate analysis

Regards
