Exit strategy - Stop Loss

#1
Hi,
I been trading in market for a while. One thing always makes me crazy is my trailing stop loss will always hit and the stock will go around to its original place whipping all my profits:mad:. Yesterday also it happened. I place a trailing stop for praj Industries on 163 and my profit was 6% yesterday the stock went down to 162.22 and came to its original price (close price : 171.10). Is there any specific rule to keep the stop loss:confused:. Please throw some lights on this.

Thanks,
Murali

Well, I have empirically tried different settings for a trailing stop-loss strategy, but the results were not good.
It seems that there are no evidence that this strategy produces profitable results. In fact, this strategy has produces worse results than a simple buy-and-hold strategy on average.
There were NO percentage settings that produced better results than a buy-and-hold strategy!
