I'm sure you know that Elliot waves are very subjective, so there is a chance that different people will have different wave counts. But I stick to my counts, we are currently in wave B, and we should head south once again to complete wave C. So I would yet advice to treat this rally as an exit opportunity rather than an entry one. Regards, Jai Shewaramani |

So far I thought only poor investors are confused about stock market.
Now realized, even EWT has no clue what it is supposed to do.

I have the following request for Amitt, Jai or anyone with good knowledge of EW.
Over the weekend could you please post a brief writeup on two EW aspects - i) A FLAT correction ii) A TRIANGULAR correction. I am particularly interested in knowing the proportions between the various legs (of a flat or triangle) - like what proportion can the B leg of a Flat be w.r.t. A etc. Same for triangle. Also what is the min-max time range for such a correction to complete (would 5 mths be enough)? Regards, Kalyan. |

Robert Prechter, the undisputed leading expert of Elliott Wave, has made some excellent forecasts using the theory, particularly in the '70s and '80s - he forecasted the horrific crash of 1987. But Prechter's record at the end of the twentieth century has not been stellar. In fact, his book "At The Crest Of The Tidal Wave" (1995), which publicly called for the end of the great bull market in 1995, was nearly five years and many Dow points premature; he was advising clients to exit the market even though the ascent was nowhere near its end.
If even the leading Elliott Wave expert finds Elliott Wave theory and its application so challenging, what hope is there for the rest of us? source: investopedia.com |
