Hi!All,
I'm interested in knowing HOW THE PRICE RANGE of a PARTICULAR SHARE IS CALCULATED WITH THE HELP of CHARTS? E.G.Suppose the highest PRICE of POWERGRID reflected on the CHART is Rs.165.But the TECH.ANALYST say that it's PRICE will increase to Rs.210.I want to ask you how is that calculated? Please reply. |

Er. wrong terminology - range is historical (eg. daily, monthly, yearly ranges). You are probably referring to price projections. Projection depend on methods used (cycles, triangles, fib, etc). Any good tech book will put u in touch with this.
If I am too crptic - you definitely need to read a good book. Easy and lay man way is the GANN method of finding the next natural number square or its half. eg for Powergrid present is projected targets are 169(13square), 196(14sq), 225(15sq). Use also half squares for shorter term trading. Hope it helps m |

Stock Market Logic by Norman Fosback is by VisionBooks. Available in India for around Rs 125/- or so - worth every paisa.
About squares it is self explanatory - multiplication table from 1-30 should cover most cases. Dont be too nerdy about these numbers - they provide a good profit booking technique for traders or for buying on support - but you will miss runaway moves with this. as usual one size does not fit all. I will see if I have Gann book and post it when I can. regards m |

Breakout and breakdown from triangular patterns - give a minimum price target which is the height of the triangle. pls refer any standard book on TA.
