Hello CV

Just watching the charts and trying to see how the right side of the chart moves after i mark them.

Seems a good way to practice, but need to be better organized, should put in 4 hrs in the evening with US indices and maybe 2 in the morning with one/two of the asian indices.

Will try to find more about it, any help appreciated.

Hello NAVEEVIa

Don't know anything about what the instruments are, or how/where to trade, but by live if you mean realtime, yes trying to mark the trades as they occur on right side, and see the follow up action.

Thanks

Hello

Some Random Thoughts

I need to do some reviewing of the activity so far, I need to analyse the Trading Journal, maybe stop doing paper trading for a few days, if it needs more time and can't get it done on weekends.

The reason being I think I should focus on trying to identify the improvements areas for the current way of doing things. I have already identified some areas where improvements are required.

The entry is ok but the exists needs lots of work / thinking.

In the exit, either am giving back too much or getting stopped before and the trend flips again to continue going the previous way. Frequent exits also result in over trading

Review can also look at if the exact implementation of the rules is a problem, but primarly don't think should be a problem.

Instead of exit and reverse, need to define clearly when to only exit and when to exit & reverse.

Also need to define no trade condition.

Entries should be avoided during side ways price action, range compression i.e. higher lows and lower highs (HLs & LHs) is a good high probability area for a new trend to emerge, but false BO are quite common,

During such triangles and rectangle consolidation/congetion rather than trying to get onto a BO, pre-emtive trades/entries can be taken (fading), SL and reverse on BO, need to watch out more for this before deciding.

If i can define and test some rules for scalling in and scalling out, the issues with the exit can be reduced.

Also a Profit Target Exit has to be considered, but for that need more than 1 lot to trade.

While i know that i need to increase funding for the account so can trade 1 lot with sufficient provisions for P/L, at the same time also realizing that trading with only 1 lot is not the optimum strategy. Will have to work out something.

One more thing along with the time frame, and HH and LL, i also need to workin some relationship with the aplitude or range of the swing, at time we get a LL directly from a HH which cuts through previous 2/3 swing highs, in such a case how to count it as just a single LL?? In effect the fundamental rules of calling the trend will be modified, maybe will think/document some rules and put up on SAINTs thread to get inputs.

In short need to work on money management, risk management, Exit rules, and also the basic rules of calling the trend needs some quantification about range/movement on each swing, whats left out

Guess good place to be

Thanks

Hello

Was reading about chart patterns, whenever I read about any pattern I start seeing it on the charts

So today morning it was Island Reversal on Shanghai Composite Index, lets see how it goes ahead.

Sentiment, does not support a reversal, all the world markets are up, and chinese markets have a tendancy to pull back quite easily from bigger falls (today just down 3% ) so will be interesting to follow up and see how this pattern develops.

Thanks
