Simple Calculations as Technical indicators
Pls go thro the XLS sheet attached. important to note the change in the indicator FACTOR from +ve to -ve and vice-a-versa.
Good calls for entry. I don't know aBOUT THE EXITS. yOU MAY IMPROVE IT FOR EXIT OPTIONS. Further the calls require a confirmation viz. change in closing price as per the call or not. The system you have given is just a simple moving average cross-over system. It is a 5-period simple MA crossing 26-period simple MA. When the 5-period MA goes below the 26-period MA the factor becomes negative and you get a SELL signal. When it goes above, the factor turns positive and it is a BUY signal. It just as simple as that. This is a well-known trading system. All moving average cross-over methods give very good results in a well defined trend but fail miserably when there is no definite trend. This is what is happening in your case also. Regards -Anant
