A famous statistician would never travel by airplane, because he had studied air travel and estimated the probability of there being a bomb on any given flight was 1 in a million, and he was not prepared to accept these odds. One day a colleague met him at a conference far from home.

"How did you get here, by train?"

"No, I flew"

"What about your possibiltiy of a bomb?"

"Well, I began thinking that if the odds of one bomb are 1:million, then the odds of TWO bombs are (1/1,000,000) x (1/1,000,000). This is a very, very small probability, which I can accept. So, now I bring my own bomb along!"

It is STATIONARY in relative to NOW ,'Photo Finish logic for horse racing' ,all probabilities for NEXT & its discrete finite change of state ,the probable change can be projected in the 'Set' (probability set theory).
Reference points ? dont we look in today (on mkt live whether > yesterday's H ,that is the immediate Res ),is'nt it not a reference ?
The logic of non-stationary or continuous price discovery,eternally can go on this Bid/Ask, ACCEPTED ,but you/i being stationary in the train's track cant say which direction the train will go ,is what ? two possibility

Your logic for every thing being relative is accepted ,hence TIME (the Y axis in chart).
Relative to time so my analogy :=

I should have 10 month data somewhere but need to locate it...will post it...as soon as possible....Bear With Me........No Pun Intended..

Proprietary Calculation was mentioned there to the specific person that I had replied to....I have no secrets....Program is undergoing some changes hopefully with more accuracy....If you want it....you are most welcome....but runs on MS Visual Foxpro 6.0

Feeling realy gratified as you wanted to share your code,however believe me i am really not interested in the formula but the result only,will wait for it.
Rather will look forward to the logic & the methodology ,that will be learning how to fish ,least interested in the fish.

Hey man Asish, I was just joking.

Let's just trade and develop our systems the best we can.

Your knowledge of Maths/Stats is impressive, so maybe you'll hit upon the perfect system someday. As for me, i have no such dreams for my knowledge is too limited.

But this much i know the mkt cannot be captured by any conventional mathematical model (maybe bits & pieces, but not the whole). Had it been so, all the answers would have been well-known by now.

One think we can bank upon is our mind. There are a lot of things the human mind is intuitively aware of. Like there is no word in any (Eucledian) lexicon for the shape of a cloud, but the human mind knows what a cloud is.

P.S. : Even 'previous' in 'previous state' is relative, isn't it? The 'previous' on the weekly is not the same as the 'previous' on the daily (in fact the former encompasses five 'states' of the latter)

While on the subject of 'relative' here's something i read on the back of a matchbox :-

Success is relative, the more success the more relatives.
