Hi,
I am an experienced forex trader now looking towards stock trading. Can all the wise stock traders make a list including hardware, such as a Computer, UPS etc, and software? I have often found that quite a few people start investing in markets without having these pre-requisites and end up losing. Neo ![]() |

ups...if you face frequent power cut.....better go for both ups and invertor . software..... : obviously METASTOCK.....because most of them use it. data feeds...... do you need real time data or end of day data??? Internet connections: at least two,if one fails you can switch over to other. lastly, most important thing is if you go on surfing internet your system will slow down badly due to spyware and allsorts of unknown code getting automatically loaded in to your pc.. and frequent hangs of operating system.... question is how you keep it neat and clean is the issue to be solved. it is very essential that your system never hang while trading..( this is one of the reason why i recommend 512MB RAM) Enjoy trading ... suba |

Hi suba,
Thanks for the input. I think that takes care of evrything. I think 'data feed' should include both EOD and real time. Neo ![]() |

Hi,
Yes I do have the requisite hardware already. The hardware that I am running: Pentium Celeron 1GB RAM 1 hour battery back-up Inverter to support computer and internet connection for 24 hours. 2 Internet connections(Airtel and a LAN connection incase I dont have power for ADSL modem or any other problem) I learned the importance of hardware when I got my account wiped out because the battery back up ran out just as the NFP came out. I went through the forum and found that nobody has really asked this question which i believe to be essential for anyone to succeed trading on any online platform. I needed to know the neccessary software for stock trading and thought that the hardware part would benefit any one who is new to online trading. Neo ![]() |
