Hello Ashish,

With reference to your various posts on H&S, I need some clarifications on being termed them as H&S:

1. Prior trend: As far as I know, a prior trend should exist for any reversal or continuation patterns. In some of your charts on H&S, I couldn't see any prior trend at all. They are just in trading range(sideways).
Eg:BomDyeing_H&S

2. Volume confirmation: Although topping patterns doesn't need huge volume confirmation compared to those at market bottoms, isn't it we need at least a good volume confimation. What are the parameters you consider for the breakout/breakdown above/below the neckline, so that the pattern is confirmed?
For eg: ABAN_H&S.

3. Time frame: Isn't time frame should be given some importance. After all if we get into in-depth details about the rationale behind H&S formations, like supply/demand, high volume on close below neckline, etc. they need some time to form such a pattern. What I feel is, some of the patterns identified as H&S are of very small time frame, which I wonder whether it can be taken as valid H&S formation?
Eg. CarolInfo_H&S

Thanks and regards,
Praveen.

P.S: I'm just posting to get your views or comments on the same. I hope i'm not disturbing the flow.

Hi all

Nice to have a thread which just deals with price action & volume (Pattern trading). I see lots of traders discussing whole lot of bull **** ( indicators, derivatives etc etc) & getting confused.
I am interested in big moves which yields big profits with least amount of trades
(of course it requires tonnes of patience), hence look at weekly/yearly patterns.

Attached below is one such :: yearly chart of CMC -- break out from ascending triangle with big bull candle >> target of 3600 & 2nd target ~ 22000/- ??
Please comment

With regards

Ajax

Hi Ajax!

Welcome to the thread and look forward to your valuable contributions.
I would beg to differ on the matter of indicators with you. Though PV action is the base behind indicators, they are in no manner bullshit. One may make money trading with indicators only as it captures PV action in essence. No mode of trading methodology is better than others. All have their own relative strengeths and weaknesses. Our strength should lie in seperating the grain from the chaff, increase our knowledge base and adding more skillsr to our armour which is possible only by listening and accepting others' views without any bias.

Best Regards,
