Talking Buying Strategy - 52 Week Lows !

Hi,

I was wondering if I can somehow get a list of stocks that are trading at their 52 week lows or life time lows (after adjustments for spilts, bonus, rights etc).

This is a pure technical filtering of stocks post which I would want to analyse the reasons for them hitting the 52/life lows and if they have an inherent problem like sugar, I would want to put my money into them.

If I am able to find out a certain sector is doing bad, I might then try to analyse the future and put my money into the top one or two companies in that sector and wait for an uptrend !

Thanks for help.

I would also appreciate if people tell me what is wrong in this kind of strategy.

Thanks n Regards,
SG @ http://pseudosocial.blogspot.com

P.S.: I have position in sugar. Please do not treat this as a tip. !

Hello Saga,
I believe being 52 week low is not at all a reason to buy the shares. When the index make new highs some shares make new lows. What will happen to these shares when a real bear phase happens. Will these shares buck the then trend? My humble suggestion is 52 week low is not at all a reason to buy the share.

If you buy at the LOW ;be pretty sure that the fundamentals are really strong and the market has irrationally discounted the stock.also the return on capital employed is really good and consistent

if the logic is eluding u, its your loss, friend

theres a reason 52 week highs make a good shortlist (mind u ... not all are good picks)... but obviously your ego and naivette are stopping you from understanding that logic

52 week lows , on the other hand, are far from turning around (or getting taken over) .. because if that was imminent, they wd have already bounced from the lows

Wow ...

So many people have read it and the logic seems to elude almost all but one. I shall let this thing hang on for some time. AND even I might be wrong in my strategy ... I might be making the most obvious of blunders ... and everyone might be right ...

BUT sadly no one has been able to give me a logic.

Thanks for the feedback guys ...
