Don't know about RJ specifically but generally speaking for a value investor the more undervalued a Fundamentally sound stock is the better for him. He'd probably thank the mkts & it's short-term crowd sentiment-driven irrationalities for the undervaluation (off course he'd first scrutinise the company for it's weaknesses if any - this would be his 'risk factors'. But if the risk-benefit ratio seems good enough he'll buy).

Like in the May carnage many good stocks hit 52 wk lows despite no changes in their fundamentals. This would be an opportunity for a value investor.

Take TulipIT for instance. Fell below it's listing price. Today it's nearing 500. There were myriad such stocks in May-June.
