I use Sharekhan and I have a query about additional levies

Hello,

I've been trading for a year. I've yet to break even with commodity trading.

When I receive a digital contract for MCX trades, I see additional levies such as:
Service Tax
Stamp Duty
Education Cess
Higher Education Cess

I had been thinking that the broker automatically deducts taxes for the trades but after receiving a NCDEX contract, I see no additional levies in the contract.

Do I have to pay service tax, stamp duty, education Cess and Higher Education Cess or does my broker take care of it for me?

I had assumed that MCX additional levies were paid for but I am not sure now.

I have not had experience dealing with tax matters.

Talk to your RM and find out the basic details, becoz though the Tax deductions are at the same rate, but different brokers have different ways to reflect these. Your RM would be in a position to elaborate it fully.
