Exhausted 80 C Limit?? You can still save tax.....

#1
Good News for all individual tax payers !!! Even if you have exhausted limit of Rs. 1 lac under section 80C, you can still save tax. Government has given additional limit of Rs.20,000 to save tax u/s 80CCF. You can avail this exemption by investing only in infrasture Bonds. Currently IDFC issue is on. The amount of bonds that can be issued u/s 80CCF is limited. It is advisable to act now.........

Only infra bonds qualify under 80 CCF.
any infra bonds?
today I enquired, they said only some infra bonds qualify for 80 CCF.
e.g. canara robeco infra fund, tata infra fund do not come under 80 CCF.
they are mentioned in the budget but I don't have the link right now.
I would like to know the names or catagories of funds which come under it.
I know of only one name i.e. IDFC.

L&T and LIC Infra are 2 more..

However, the problem with Infra bonds are 10years lockin period, Interest is taxable on maturity, it is not govt backed so if idfc tomrow closes down u wont get a penny from govt and if u calculate 20k from ur tax bracket it is actually a liability than a tax saving asset.

how to calculate inflation adjusted amt of money i.e. real value of money.
is it 8 % compounded annually(assuming of course that it wwill remain @8% all the yr round!!)
I need to see if I ma getting enough cover for inflation in my investments.

I need to confirm the below formula :-

if we want to calcualate real return then,

return= principal[1+r]^N

where r=real rate of interest=rate offered by investment-inflation rate(assuming inflation remains constt)

and N=invesmt period

acyually i need toi know if LNT infra fund isds fine or not
actually they are offering max 7.75 % and assuming rate of inflation is 8% then w are actually decreasing our money!!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I also need to know if any boday has any idea of LIC infra bond?
I would like to know the rate of interest they are offering, if any body has any idea.
Hope it is not <8%!!!!)
