Intraday and STCG....

#1
Hi

I'm new to trading and need some clarification on the Intraday and Short Term Capital Gains. Please let me know if the following points are correct.

1. Intraday Income/loss should be considered as a speculative income and hence should be shown under the head business income. The profit or loss would then be directly added / subtracted from your total income and the taxation would depend on what tax slab you fall under.

2. STCG would have to be showed under the category Short term capital gains with 15% tax on the income.

I have the following queries,

1. What is the number of years you can carry over the losses in both the cases.
2. What are the components that needs to be considered for tax calculation (like STT, other charges, brokerage etc.,)

Regards
Ravi
