I m confuse big time......since my mom want to invest more money in fd but the TDS stuff we have hardly idea...some says yearly interest upto 10k is free frm tds whereas some confuse it with 5k......
ALso since she is a housewife she has no other income so her interest wont go in money she earns...so the 15H form stuffs comes in...can someone guide us on this issue.....
SHe doesnt have PAN yet ..but i m thinking to make one for her now
TDS will be there if the annual interest is above 10,000.if ur mom is below 65 yrs and without pan u have to sign 15-H form.if she is more than 65 she has to submit some 15---- form. but even with 15-h form tax will be deducted if interest exceeds a particular amount.sorry i dont know that amount.better to put in 3 to 5 banks(same or different) if you have more amount.
