How does it matter?

If the stock splits in 1:2 ratio, then instead of holding 100 shares, you would be holding 200 shares.

i'm afraid both of you are mistaken

- the bonus is 1:2 .... so if u have 100 now , u will get only 50 more

- there is no stock split on the cards ... the par value is already Re 1 ( the last stock split was in 2000, when Rs 10 was reduced to 1)

Agilent is right.

There's usually a spurt before the bonus but after that the stk tends to get a little depressed for sometime presumably due to a fall in EPS due to rise in equity.

You can take advantage of the spurt & hold till the record date for the bonus.

Dunno how much it has already moved up though.

Regards,
Kalyan.

That explains the difference between Cum bonus and Ex bonus prices ..

are u talking abt that or abt a further fall ?

Right.

I was assuming that single stock would split into two. Anyway - even in that case it won't matter.
