Dear all,
This poll is mainly applicable to day-traders. Lets say you have done your homework and decided on your next-day strategy. Before market opens, do you see the closing of NASDAQ and Asian markets on the previous day ? Do you think it plays a major role in altering / boosting your decisions for that day ? Say e.g., you find that market is going to be bullish on the next day and you decide to go long and you see "all reds" in international market. What do you do ? Since I am new to day-trading (most of the time, I do swing-trading), I just want to know the psychology of a day-trader... Regards, Abhay (AAD) Last edited by aad : 25th August 2006 at 02:28 AM. 2nd option should have been "No it does not change my strategy but I delay my entry after seeing the intial trend". Because, day-traders are obviously cautious and there is nothing like over-cautious, I suppose. Since, poll options cannot be edited, I have no option but to mention it here. Being novice to day-trading, I do not know whether these options make any sense at all, or not. Your views on this will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Abhay (AAD) |

hi all,
i voted for "Yes. I alter my strategy to suit to trends in international market." as that is the one closest to my thoughts. i will actually be cautious about fresh exposures/ holdings in case of wide & uniform fluctuations in in the different stock exchanges across the world. to ascertain this i visit the links: http://in.finance.**********/intlindices http://in.finance.**********/usindices cooltetra has provided in his software 'coolintra' some consolidation of performance of popular world exchanges. Hi Community,
I voted for "Yes. I alter my strategy to suit to trends in international market". I found very high degree of correlation between Indian market and US market, especially the Dow Jones industrial average(NYSE). List of items which i used to analyse before market open: 1. Crude oil price. 2. Fed reports. 3. US Economic numbers. 4. Leading Index's : BSE, NSE, DJI, Nasdaq. Bye, Regards, Baskaran Rathinam |
