Default self sealing balloon : Correction??

I've heard of tubeless (self sealing ?) tyres which are immune from punctures....

Now we have a self sealing balloon... Look at the markets... the bulls are continuing to blow the balloon... even if it punctures, it will self seal !!
Only question is ... what if it is a BIG puncture ??

Seriously ,we should be in for a big selloff any time soon...even as I write this theres been a pullback of 70% intraday

See what I mean (attachement) .. .. that was a minor puncture earlier today (10.15 am) which has already undergone the self sealing process.

But watch out folks .. the big one will come when we all least expect it .. may not be today ... may not be tomorrow ... but any day in the not too distant future.... stay alert

Cheers

Hi Agilent,

I usually look out for your posts. Some excellent ones.I think the reason why most,if not none, answered to this thread is because I think most people knew a crack was imminent in the "not too distant future".

But anyway,great posts from yourself.

Thank you

Regds,
Anu

Thanks .. Anupama/ Alok/Gandhi ... it feels good to get a pat on the back occasionally

Alok .. u want me to be more affirmative. Sure , friend, but if I CAN be, (and still be correct always) it would make me GOD woudn't it (besides of course making me richer than Mr B Gates in a few years)

Seriously then what should we make of today's slump. (The FM says nothing to worry... its a correction ... !!??? .. really ? did we think its the end of the world ?? Actually , did u note the surprise on the CNBC anchors' faces when commentating about the crash... one of them really came across as if she had seen a ghost!)

Relax folks , it IS just a correction (here now .. even I am speaking like the FM) . Put it in perspective ... see chart ... the corrections we saw in May-June 04, and again in Oct 05, were longer than a month each. Maybe we are in for another similar slump.

Or ... who knows ... this may be the start of a bear market ...

Meanwhile , happy trading (day traders wouls have had a field day today ... right?)

Guys

Rallies during correction can be deceptive.

Recall Oct 05 ... the correction lasted a mth , during when several rallies occurred, only to give way to the down trend

See chart to get a better idea.. (Trust u can read an OHLC chart) .. note how the first rally around the 6 th day into Oct : sensex at 8510, gave way

Who knows, maybe this correction also will last some weeks ... maybe more ? Very unlikely we have seen its end, for sure !

And mind u ... the market is much higher now than in Oct , hence more vulnerable.

Conclusion : If u buy at the rallies, keep tight stop losses

Happy Trading !

Hi Agilent!,
Today only I found this thread. If found earlier I will be rather post my query here than NK's.As an invester everybody fears corrections. But traders can profit from both direction of the market.Eventhough Investers can hedge there prtfolio we need better education in that subject.I alredy said I wnat to be invester and trader.Nifty is good index to trade both in future and options.Since online trading in futures and options mostly offered in Nifty by brokers, tiny traders like me can benefit if
1.There is a good technical analysis of nifty(Already Amit;s Nifty Fifty does a good job)
2.If somebody start a thread who knows fundamentals of market(Especially that affect Nifty) along with tecnicals
3.A thread dealing with futures and optins of Nifty(for simplicity nifty only)
such as whether open interest going up or down, wheter future is in dicount or premium and what that mean etc
Is it a good idea?
By the long time experience in the market can you tell me how we can predict market(or get some signals)by the movements of small caps midcaps etc(like large caps rally first then midcaps etc),It will be beneficial to other members too.
thanks

Well my doomsaying about rallies being deceptive hasn't come right so far, but I maintain that the market is due for a 'secondary' correction (defined loosely as a few weeks to over a mth). Which means a decline of well over 500 points

See chart to get a perspective.

And secondaries don't generally need an economic/political/other trigger. Its just passage of time (though the secondary of May 04 was prompted , as we all know, by the change in Govt ... strangely its onset presaged the event ... markets have an uncanny knack of anticipating !!)

So folks, better be alert ...

(Some mths ago I had wondered if we were seeing a H & S reversal ... but it wasn't to be .. my friend Kartik had pointed out that such false indications had been seen in the past)
